Inclusion

  • There are 315,000 children between 10 and 19 living with disabilities.
  • Almost one in three children with disabilities lives in poverty.
  • Youth have the highest unemployment rate of any age group and are most likely to work in low wage jobs.
  • High school dropout rates in Canada are close to 30%.
  • More than half of recent immigrant children live in poverty.
  • Many recent immigrant workers are in low-wage jobs without benefits, even though today’s immigrants have the highest ever educational credentials.
