8th TB SYMPOSIUM 2012- The Circle of Care

Description: Theme for  2012, "Tuberculosis: The Circle of Care," is devoted to the epidemiology that drives programming, newly emerging science, client perspectives and local TB control endeavours.
It is our objective that Symposium speakers will assist delegates to:

  1. Be apprised of current trends in the epidemiology of TB in Canada and throughout the world
  2. Be aware of current techniques and technology in diagnosis, management and treatment
  3. Identify strategies to improve prevention, service delivery, clinical practice and accessibility
  4. Engage in active dialogue with expert TB researchers, clinicians and decision makers

  • Learn about organizational readiness for implementation and support of full NP practice scope
  • Learn how legislative changes will impact NP practice
  • Learn about increased liability for NPs
  • Gain knowledge of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Hear recent graduates of the NP-Anaesthesia Program discuss the curriculum, scope of practice and roles and responsibilities associated with their training
