Nursing and the Political Agenda

Canada’s Parliamentary System

Private Members' Bills

  • Similar to the process for government legislation, except there is no cabinet involvement. Bills are put through a lottery-type process to determine the order and timing of their consideration by the House of Commons or the Senate. Only a certain number of private member’s bills are selected for consideration during any given sitting of Parliament.
