Jane Simington has made extensive contributions to the nursing role in trauma and grief support. She developed trauma recovery and grief support certification training programs. She was acclaimed with Correctional Services of Canada, where she worked with female inmates, conducted research and developed programs on trauma and grief, sexual health and healthy parenting. She acts as a consultant and frequently contributes to the Aboriginal Education North American Community. She educated health professionals in Greece about traumatic responses during times of crisis. She was also instrumental in developing the Parish Nursing program at the University of Alberta.
