Canadian Nurses Foundation has much to celebrate at 2nd annual CNF Nightingale Gala

Ottawa, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 — In celebration of National Nursing Week and in tribute to the legacy of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, the Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) is once again hosting a glittering gala affair. The 2nd annual CNF Nightingale Gala takes place on Wednesday, May 9. It will raise money for CNF’s Nursing 4.0 campaign, which has a goal of raising $4 million to fund scholarships and research opportunities for Canada’s nurses. The campaign, which concludes in 2013, has already raised $3 million.

The evening’s MC, Catherine Clark, will open by welcoming gala co-chairs Dr. Wilbert Keon and Ginette Lemire Rodger for remarks. Following dinner, Olivia Chow, MP, will take to the stage to share her story of the impact nurses have in all our lives, and especially in her family’s life as her late husband, Jack Layton, battled cancer.
