Statement by CNA President Barb Shellian following the Council of the Federation meeting in Whitehorse

Whitehorse, July 22, 2016 — “The Canadian Nurses Association was pleased that Canada’s premiers had meaningful discussions to ensure the long-term sustainability of our health-care system. Particularly, we are happy to hear that the premiers are currently looking at innovative care models that prioritize home- and community-based care over long-term care institutionalization. We encourage governments to continue to engage health-care professionals from across the country to move this priority forward.”
