CNA held its third virtual event with federal Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor. The Facebook Live coffee break was co-hosted by CNA president Barb Shellian and Quebec board member Sylvain Brousseau. In addition to questions on healthy eating, seniors and home care, and the opioid crisis, Shellian and Brousseau asked questions from the audience on important issues such as pharmacare and the proposed new federal legislation on cannabis. Town hall with New Democratic Party (NDP) leadership candidates

At our late summer Facebook Live town hall, NDP leadership candidates shared their health-care priorities with CNA president Barb Shellian. In addition to informing the general public, the town hall gave NDP members an opportunity to hear candidates’ views on important health-care issues in the lead-up to the election of a new party leader in October.

Registered nurses, nurse practitioners and Canadians were invited to join the discussion. Viewers forwarded questions for Shellian to ask during the Q-and-A segment.
