The Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO), established in 1985, is Canada’s national voice for oncology nursing, representing more than 1,400 members dedicated to advancing cancer care, nursing practice, education, research, and leadership. For more than four decades, CANO has shaped the evolution of oncology nursing through pioneering standards, professional practice frameworks, and evidence-informed resources that have advanced compassionate, people-centred cancer care nationwide. Through accessible educational programs, learning pathways, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and the Canadian Oncology Nursing Journal, the association has strengthened professional excellence and supported nurses at every stage of their careers.
