
Gurjit Kaur Toor
Director, Research & Policy
Gurjit Kaur Toor, RN, MPH, joins CNA as inaugural director, research and policy. With 18 years’ experience in health leadership, nursing practice, research and policy, Gurjit has led initiatives regionally, provincially, nationally, and internationally across diverse care settings, including Indigenous communities. She holds bachelor of science degrees in biochemistry (McGill University) and nursing (McMaster University, summa cum laude), and a master of public health degree in epidemiology (University of Toronto). She is an alumna of the Women in Media Fellowship (Women Who Lead and Enterprise Canada). Currently, she is completing her Lean Healthcare Green Belt certification through Leading Edge Group. Gurjit is recognized for her strategic vision and expertise in interprofessional team-based care, evidence-informed practice, data analytics, and multi-sector collaborations. Her commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion — and proven leadership in system transformation — will foster impactful research and policy development, advancing nursing and health systems across Canada.
