Study Groups

Study groups are established by individuals and organizations and are independent of the CNA Certification Program. As such, they operate without being endorsed by or being of benefit to CNA, which simply provides study group information. The language of each study group corresponds with its description.

Although not every study group is open to all nurses applying to write certification exams, nurses who wish to join a group are encouraged to see whether participation (full or partial) is available. Even if a group is not nearby, for example, it may be possible to share in their activities via teleconferencing. Being part of a certification exam study group can be tremendously helpful to your exam preparation and experience. Please contact each group organizer for complete details.

Don’t see a study group for your specialty? Consider starting your own! Once you’ve created your group, e-mail us at certification@cna-aiic.ca with details so we can advertise it on this page. We will also provide you with access to the online prep resources and practice test questions for your specialty.

Additional information: A FREE learning opportunity for nurses. I volunteer to offer this study group twice per year (Spring & Fall) to improve the care of older adults. Nurses (RPNs, LPNs, & RNs) PASS! Within the weekly emails are: Powerpoint presentations, articles, fun games, practice exams, links to any relevant webinars and mentoring are available.

Title: CNA Nephrology Study Group (CNeph(C))

Additional information: This study group will be offered on a quarterly basis (starting July 15th 2024). The course facilitator has over 17years of nephrology experience, is CNeph certified and have supported many renal nurses to successful certification. The course is a 12-weeks on-line self-directed course with weekly power point slides, practice test to consolidate weekly topics and postings of best practice articles to support learners. Additionally, the facilitator will meet face-to-face on a weekly basis with the group to review content, answer questions and provide ongoing mentoring. Learners will have access to the on-line textbook as suggested by the CNA; and will have a simulation mock exam at the end of the course so they can reassess any additional areas for review prior to writing the exam.
