October 14, 2022 — The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) is delighted to announce that 18 nurses were inducted to the Canadian Academy of Nursing today as part of the induction ceremony of the third annual class of Fellows.

Established in 2019, the Academy is the first pan-Canadian organization dedicated to identifying, educating, supporting, and celebrating nursing leaders across all the regulated categories and domains of practice. Fellows are among the most accomplished nurses in our country and their successful nominations reflect careers of sustained impact across nursing and health systems.

To become Fellows, each candidate provided a detailed submission to the Academy, along with the support of two nominators. The decision to accept Fellows is based on their demonstration of exceptional and sustained contributions and commitments to advancing the nursing profession.

The 18 Fellows in the class of 2022 are:

  • Barbara Astle
  • Jennifer Baumbusch
  • Francine de Montigny
  • Aliyah Dosani
  • Margaret Edwards
  • Debbie Fraser
  • Céline Gélinas

  • Martha MacLeod
  • Katherine McGilton
  • Josephine Muxlow
  • Lori Schindel Martin
  • Eric Staples
  • Gillian Strudwick
  • Lucie Tremblay
