Brenda Poulton, RN, MN, NP, has been a driving force for improving pain treatment locally, provincially and nationally. Her career highlights include the following:
- Presented at Canadian Pain Society annual conferences
- Delivered poster presentation at the International Association for the Study of Pain
- Secretary of the Acute Pain Interest Group
- Past vice-chair of the Pain BC Society and co-chair of its education committee
- Active/heavy involvement in the regional standardization of pain practices for Fraser Health
- Helped to develop content for the UBC interprofessional health science online pain course
- Opened/managed the outpatient block pain clinic at Royal Columbian Hospital
