June 21, which is the summer solstice, marks National Indigenous Peoples Day. On this day and every day, CNA acknowledges the brilliance, diversity, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples and communities across the country, from coast to coast to coast.

As the national voice for nurses in Canada, CNA will continue to advocate for equitable and culturally safe health services for Indigenous Peoples, recognizing our mandate of upholding the health-related Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

CNA is developing a reconciliation framework and will seek member insights as part of the development process. Watch for details on our social media pages about a voluntary survey in July.

Further, mark your calendars for CNA’s Anti-Indigenous Racism Knowledge Sharing Event, September 29, 12:00-16:00 ET. The event will be a space to listen, learn and unlearn, and act — together.

Registration for this event will open soon! Learn more.
