CNA is a member-driven organization, with each member joining voluntarily. The power of the association comes from the voices and participation of our individual members. Your membership fees support our work. Without you, there is no CNA.

We welcome members who are students in any type of nursing program, all regulated categories of nurses, and retired nurses. All members are eligible to serve on CNA’s board of directors but only general and premium members can be elected as officers of the organization.

At any stage of your career, you will find affiliation and support in the Canadian Academy of Nursing — the home of nursing leadership in Canada. For the most experienced nurses, we offer a prestigious Fellowship program that carries its own special benefits for those who are inducted.

As a CNA member, you help us develop our policy and strategy directions. For example, you can join one of our action councils. We also count on your expertise in a range of formal external advocacy activities, such as speaking on health topics as witnesses before parliamentary committees
