Newfoundland & Labrador Member Voting Now Open

A Historic Moment for Nursing in Newfoundland & Labrador

We are pleased to share an important milestone in the establishment of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Newfoundland & Labrador Chapter.

For the first time, members are being asked to vote on the inaugural Executive Committee for the CNA Newfoundland & Labrador Chapter. This vote represents a foundational step in building a strong, member‑led governance structure that will guide the Chapter’s work, priorities, and voice within CNA for years to come.

Following a call for nominations, the Chapter received eligible candidates required for each Executive position. In accordance with the Chapter Charter, these candidates are being presented as a proposed slate for member approval through an online YES / NO vote.

The outcome will be determined by a simple majority vote.

This vote is significant not only because it confirms the leadership of the Chapter, but because it formally establishes the first elected Executive Committee of the CNA Newfoundland & Labrador Chapter — marking a historic moment for nurses across the province.
